The Outcome

CMS is a new innovative web based system for training and managing oil spill accidents to ensure, that rescue authorities, firms and personals are interacting rational and professional. CMS gives implementation, finalisation, dissemination and future commercial use of former LdV. supported project CMS 2 on achieved fine project results. CMS gives a full web Home Page based marine rescue training system including e-learning modules for those who usually participate de facto in
responding to incidents of oil spill at sea.

CMS introduces an innovative ICT-based learning system on a high pedagogical level, which supports the need of practical lifelong learning. On this innovative base, CMS improves knowledge sharing to local and international capability in responding to oil spills in marine environments.

Fine result are given on this in former CMS 2 project, but 3 tests accomplished through the CMS 2 period pointed out necessary changes to be made in the CMS 2 system. Without defining and implementing these changes, the training system will not be interesting for the rescue market.

CMS will ensure necessary changes on:

• The actual web Home Page training system
• Integrated e-learning modules on the web training Home Pages.

CMS is made open to further development on new maritime areas: offshore oil/gas security training, terror security training, harbour authority training etc. This possibility is to be used of partners consortium in the future use of CMS.
